Google in its second Android N Developer Preview gave - Launcher Shortcuts which looks similar to the Apple's 3D-Touch. This new feature will help users to perform tasks more easily and quickly. Long press on few icons will show a quick menu to perform tasks without opening the application.

Currently Settings, Google Keep, Play Music, Calendar, Contacts, Playstore are few apps which support this Launcher Shortcuts. All the options present in the Launcher Shortcut menu can also be placed on homescreen as shortcuts.
Above images shows how launcher shortcuts looks on the homescreen. A longer press on any icon which support this feature will open a menu bar which will contain all the quick shortcuts of that application. Setting icon after a long press shows Battery, Data usage and WiFi shortcuts to the user. All these available quick options can be dragged out of the menu and can be placed on the homescreen.
Launcher shortcut also works on the drawer app.
